Coleman Partners was commissioned by Marriott Vacations Worldwide to renovate the existing historic Edgewater Hotel on Ocean Dr. in Miami Beach into a new Urban Branded Timeshare product they have just begun called "Pulse." The existing building had been divided into small condominiums which were converted into 49 Timeshare Efficiency Apartments. The ground floor of the building had been totally chopped up and had lost its visual connection to the famous Ocean Drive promenade. Restoring this relationship in the Lobby was of primary importance during the design of the project. The entire ground floor was gutted and repartitioned to redirect site lines back out to Ocean Drive. Materials and furniture which relate to the Miami Beach "vibe" were featured, such as a new terrazzo floor, white washed pecky cypress wood, recycled bio glass, hemp rope, and unique swinging chairs. In addition to the boutique timeshare project, the commission also included a 6,000 SF sales Center a few blacks away. The same material and experience were utilized in the Sales Center as well.
