Hotel St. Pierre is located in the residential portion of the French Quarter at Burgundy and Dumaine. The previous lobby space was chopped up into many small spaces with low ceilings, which was very disoriented to a guest. The design objective of the new lobby was to provide order to the space and give it a sense of place. To accomplish this, a Grande Hall was created at the centerline of the Lobby structure which focused on the courtyard and fountain beyond. Special furnishings and flowers were used to accentuate this view corridor. Remaining spaces such as Lobby Seating. Check in, Business Center, Sundry Shop, and dining areas all utilize the Grande Hall for circulation. All existing lower ceilings were removed and replaced with ceilings that take full advantage to the height of the existing structure. A new Grande Stair was added to provide access to two guestrooms and offices located on the floor above. A series of light, neutral colors were used to provide an open airy space.
