Healing Place Church
Coleman Partners Architects worked hand-in-hand with Healing Place Church’s administration, congregation, and numerous committee’s to create a master plan for its 50-acre campus that would fulfill the needs of a rapidly growing, independent, evangelical ministry. The plan includes the multi-phased development of a 3,000-seat arena with children’s ministry, studio, and support spaces; a family-life center; sports ministry complex; conference/bible college facility; as well as ample parking and outdoor recreation and gathering spaces. Each new building on the campus, as it is completed, will further the “dialogue” with the larger community as well as “equip the saints” for the work of the ministry.

As a contemporary worship space, both aesthetically and experientially; the third phase of the Coleman Partners’ master plan for the church’s 50-acre Baton Rouge campus, is the focal point of an ever-expanding, independent, evangelical Christian ministry. In addition to a 3,000-seat sanctuary, the facility provides secure, age-appropriate support and education spaces for younger children; numerous adult classrooms; reception and information areas; a coffee shop/bookstore; and a recording/production studio. The semi-circular sanctuary utilizes a combination of terraced, theatre-style fixed seating and movable chairs on a level surface to assure intimacy is maintained within the large volume. A projecting stage further contributes to building a “relationship” between speaker and audience. A concourse ties each major component of the plan together making way-finding straightforward; its ample size also provides space for fellowship and ease of movement during change-over of multiple services.
