Louisiana Realtors Association
This stately residence was built in 1921 by Sam Cangelosi on the edge of downtown Baton Rouge. The house was built in an Eclectic style and is considered significant because of its visual quality. The Louisiana Realtors Association acquired the house in early 2014 and made plans to renovate the existing residence into office space, with a small addition onto the back of the structure to house a storage room, elevator and lead out onto a partially covered patio.

Great care was taken to retain and respect the original architectural character of the building, both on the exterior as well as the interior. Existing brick was re-pointed and repaired, with any new materials matching the existing size, configuration, detailing and color. The existing wood floors, base and trim were in good condition and were refinished. All new systems were provided to meet code and support the use of the structure as an office building.

The new headquarters for LRA features private and shared office areas, as well as space for continuing education classes, receptions and meetings. The LRA is excited to be relocated in such a vibrant area!
