The Lotus Center will serve as one of many senior centers operated by the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging. In addition to offering a facility to connect and engage seniors in the community, the project had the goal of repurposing a previously vacant property in downtown Baton Rouge into a thriving neighborhood asset.
By offering programs such as exercise classes, sewing classes, wellness rooms, a food pantry, bingo, a card room, and many other activities, the Lotus Center aims to help seniors maintain dignity, independence, and social interaction.
