Project Overview

Opened in January of 2001, the 300-room Sheraton Convention Hotel serves as the headquarter hotel for the newly expanded Baton Rouge Convention Center.

The project, at the time owned by Argosy Gaming Co., also anchors the north end of Argosy's Catfish Town Entertainment Complex located at the Mississippi River adjacent to the Baton Rouge Convention Center. The hotel lobby connects to the Catfish Town Atrium offering many amenities under a 50,000 square foot, conditioned, glass enclosure. Some of the hotel's other amenities are located in the historically significant buildings of Catfish Town.

The building's entry facade is designed to respect the historical character of the one-and-two story warehouses of the Catfish Town district.
