Located on Canal St. in New Orleans, the hostel facility contains dorms, private rooms, guest lounges and dining facilities for travelers to the history city. Care was given to honor the historic structure and embrace its unique New Orleans architecture. Originally built in 1896, the repurposed historic building remains as a representation of the design and scale of the buildings in the Rampart-Basin Corridor Cultural District and the commercial buildings which line Canal Street.
The design and scale are typical for the district, but the building's history and details make it unique. The double casement windows, storefront, and decorative cornice with balustrade all add to the significance of the structure.
