Project Overview

Central fixtures of the classic Downtown Baton Rouge skyline, the Historic Heidelberg and Capitol House Hotel complex was restored to glory in 2006 after remaining un-occupied and derelict for over two decades.

Originally constructed in the early 1920s, the Heidelberg served as Headquarters for many of renowned Louisiana Governor Huey P. Long’s historic “deal making” meetings. The Capitol House was added to the complex in the 1950s to provide additional “modern” hotel rooms.

The 2006 renovation combined both hotels and maintains the Hilton Flag with 293 guestrooms and suites. Other amenities of the hotel include a concierge level, large and junior ballrooms, restaurant, spa, business center, meeting rooms, fitness center and scenic pool deck, all overlooking the Mighty Mississippi River. The was a complete restoration of Interior and Exterior design utilizing available state and federal Historic Tax Credits.

Since its opening, the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center continues to be one of the highest performing Hilton Hotels for customer satisfaction.
