Project Overview

The Hotel Indigo Baton Rouge is an “adaptive reuse” of a historic downtown Baton Rouge hotel. Originally built in the early part of the 20th century, the shell, fenestration, and primary structural frame were completely restored while deteriorated interiors were removed completely.

The second through seventh floors were completely repartitioned to accommodate ninety-three new king and double-double guestrooms as well as two luxury, river view suites. The street level historic storefronts and pressed tin entry canopies were put back in place after having been removed over the years while grade-level interiors contain reception lobby, lounge and dining area (King Bistro), board room, business center, fitness center and other public amenities in addition to all necessary back-of-house spaces.

With the sensitive restoration and re-use of the King property the owners realized a 20% historic tax credit while achieving a stylist, contemporary, and state-of-the-art urban retreat.
