A New

Academic Crossroads

The new LSU Library is envisioned as an interdisciplinary Learning Commons supporting study, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across all colleges and academic levels. The facility brings together classrooms, flexible study spaces, event and exhibit areas, library collections, staff and partner spaces, and technologically rich creative environments into a cohesive academic destination. The design honors LSU’s historic campus character while expressing it through a contemporary architectural language.

Beyond its academic function, the Library serves as a social and intellectual commons for the LSU community. Inclusive spaces encourage cross-disciplinary interaction and connect LSU’s historic campus core with future development areas, reinforcing the Library’s role as a central gathering place for campus life.
