Opened in October of 2000, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel is a 452-guestroom hotel located on Canal Street in downtown New Orleans, Louisiana, a former home to the historic Maison Blanche. The complex includes the luxurious Ritz Carlton Spa, Ritz Carlton Suite, the Residence Suite as well as one smaller hotel. The building underwent interior renovations to both guestrooms, suites and spa amenities which were completed in 2020, 2021 and 2024. The project involved obtaining a full 20% tax credit on both the historic Maison Blanche Building as well as the adjacent historic Kress Building. The Hotel offers 25,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 10,000 square foot Grand Ballroom that was carved out of former retail space.
A Penthouse was created on top of the building in 2000, which contains the fabulous 3,500 square foot Ritz Carlton Suite, as well as a private residence and grand terrace. The private residence and grand terrace was purchased by Ritz-Carlton and converted into the Residence Suite which was completed in 2021. The Ritz Carlton Suite was renovated in 2024.
All rooms feature furniture and finishes that blend the traditional upscale French Heritage with modern New Orleans style.
