Scott School Apartments is an affordable housing complex comprised of the renovation/restoration of an existing historic school building and the construction of a new modern multifamily building.
The renovation portion of the converted the classic two-story schoolhouse into 20 self-contained apartments units. The corridors, stair wells and other public spaces were repaired and restored to match original construction details and aesthetics. The ceilings within the units were maintained by utilizing existing pressed metal panels to keep original school house charm within the units.
The new 2-story apartment building is completed in a contrasting, yet complimentary contemporary style. The 23 units within the new building share a common kitchen and laundry rooms. The management office and assembly space for the entire complex are also located within the new building.
